Ladies, ladies, ladies...

...we bought my wedding band today! (that link shows a 1/2 carat band; we went with the 1/4 carat.)

We had intended on just going to get ideas on what we wanted for wedding bands, and hit up the Fiesta Mall in Mesa with the plan of perusing the jewelry stores there. Our first stop was Helzberg diamonds, and I have to say, we were thrilled with the customer service. The first girl we spoke with was very helpful and not at all pushy. She showed us several rings and really listed to our input. A second woman came over to help as well, and they were both just so friendly, helpful, and not at all pushy. I really loved two of the rings there; one was a milgrain diamond band w/ a bit more of an antique feel, and the other was the contour band (the link above). We made a record of the two rings, and went on our merry way to look at other stores. We looked at only two other places before realizing that a) I really, really loved the contour band, b) the pricing was pretty much the same from store to store, and c) the customer service had been so fabulous that we really wanted to make our purchase at Helzberg. So we went back and bought it! Since we hadn't really planned on buying anything today I was only able to put ~ 1/2 the money down, but I'll go back next week to pay the rest of it off and have it sized. It's definitely more than we'd intended on spending, but it fits next to my solitaire absolutely perfectly and I'm 100% in love with it. Yay!!
